MTTA's office is located in Ashford, Washington. Ashford is on Highway 706 about 6 miles west of Mount Rainier National Park. This is the entrance that leads to Longmire and Paradise.
As you come into Ashford from the west, our office is located behind the Fire Station, which is one of the first buildings on the left. Park in the Fire Station parking lot. This parking lot is a typical meeting place for MTTA events.
Our North backcountry road turn-off is located ~1 mile west of Ashford (~6 miles east of Elbe) on Highway 706. Look for signs to the 92 Road.
To reach our South District: from Ashford, travel ~2 miles east on Highway 706, then turn right on Kernahan Road. Go about 1.4 miles. Turn off the main Highway just before the curve to the left, then take an immediate left onto FS 85 and follow the signs to the SnoPark. For detailed directions to our South District, please open and print our South District Driving Map.
See our Maps page or the WA State Sno-Park Maps page for further detail. Please note: some old maps incorrectly show the South District "1-Road" directly connecting to Highway 706 via a bridge that washed out in 2008. The only access to our South District is shown on the above South District Driving Map.
